Facilities and Services
- A staff complement of more than a hundred professional and support staff. The multi-disciplinary team consists of psychologists, physiotherapists, speech therapists and occupational therapists, and remedial teachers. Selected learners receive individual or group therapy in support of the teaching programme.
- A neuro-developmental clinic for the assessment and treatment of infants and toddlers.
- An incontinence clinic for children with conditions such as spina bifida.
- A visiting neurologist, orthopaedic surgeon and optometrist
- Practical training for psychology, therapy and teaching students from the Universities of Pretoria, Johannesburg and Witwatersrand.
- Two computer centres, the one used for remedial programmes and the other for computer competence training.
- Reading laboratory and media centre.
- Tape aid and oral examination for learners who experience difficulties in reading and writing.
- Sport for the disabled and able-bodied learners. Two learners participated in the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens.
- An extensive cultural programme is offered, including a biennial revue.
- A transport system of 10 buses that serve the whole of Ekurhuleni East.
- Three hostels that provide accommodation for selected learners. Accommodation is available from Mondays to Fridays during school terms only.
